Honestly!
I read a really interesting blog today by a fellow Malaysian who writes in Bahasa Malaysia (pasar version) and mashed it up with phrases and words in English. Her style is very conversational and authentic and oh so very Malaysian which I adore.
And her self-deprecating humour is fantastic and humbling. I mean, where did she get the confidence (despite her so-called low self-confidence) to speak about it all and be entertaining at the same time?
Come to think of it, like on Facebook for instance it may seem like my life is an open book. People can see what my politics are, what kind of music I'm passionate about, what I do when I go out and there's a camera around, when pretty much that's just skimming the surface.
What is it like to openly talk about your flaws and the stuff that happens in your life, without censoring yourself or speaking in metaphors?
And then to be reading it back later and think, shit: what if my mum reads this? Or my bosses?
So I'm going to try and write like how a normal, honest "blogger" would. Wish me luck and that my mum or bosses don't ever come across my writings. Not that anyone's reading this anyway! Hahaha!
