Hello, my name is Kinkywildcat and I'm a shopaholic.
Last night I watched a documentary on Imelda Marcos, the former first lady of the Philippines.
You know what's crazy? Her shoes and her clothes collection. Jeeeebus. Have you seen it? Now they have a frickin museum to store her shoes.
Which brings me to this realisation. I'm a shopaholic. The wise man says everyone needs at least one type of vice, since I don't take drugs, I only drink socially and smoking doesn't count - I shop. Compulsively.
Have you seen the movie or read the book Confessions of a Shopaholic? Eh that's me, without the credit card and debt collector issues. See, unlike Rebecca whatshername in the book/movie I don't own a credit card, and I have zero debt (so far). I pay everything cash. I simply don't trust myself with a credit card, so this must mean I'm still in control. Right? RIGHT?!
Anyway, today I bought myself 2 vintage skirts and yet ANOTHER vintage polka dot dress (it's soooo nice though, it has peaked shoulders). And last night I picked up a modern cheongsam, a long 70s evening dress, and a short dress with colourful beadings. And to think that there are at least 7-8 dresses that I haven't worn yet!
I need to go out more I think, like every night, to wear all my new clothes..hahaha! And I also bought myself a new handbag, and I got a handbag for my mum as well.
Somebodehhhh stop mehhh!!!
But thing is, I feel that if I don't do this now, when else can I do it? Once I have kids I can't be spending recklessly anymore. And it's not like I can get anyone to get these stuff for me, innit?
