Confessions of a (sorta) vintageholic part 2

Yeah, so yesterday when I wrote that I kept getting interrupted by my day job. Hah. I'm not very happy.

Anyway, not everything about the local blog shops are bad. Some of the vintage clothing items are styled so deliciously that a) They make you want to buy buy buy and b) They give you brilliant styling ideas as these stuff can't exactly be worn by a lazy dresser or it'll look boring and old. For example, my friend's blog shop here, see that some of the items may not be the hottest item there but check out that styling! And a lot of effort is put in on the background as well.

Another blogshop ran by a friend of mine, on the other hand, although the background is simple and there isn't much of styling involved (clothes are on mannequins and not accessorised), have choices that are actually of great quality. Since from the pictures you can't see details, the actual items are actually very comfortable to wear and some of the details pretty amazing.

One thing that always comes to mind whenever I see a vintage clothing item. Who did it belong to before? I mean, it survived the 80s, the 90s until today. Some of it were around for even longer (from the 60s and 70s). Some of it unworn. Where have they been all this while.

If they were worn before, what were the stories of the women who wore them? Were they happy, were they sad? Did they wear it to work, or to party? Did they wear the clothes to an important event in their lives? Did they spill anything on the clothes..*gasp* did they die wearing those clothes?

Remember the movie The Red Violin? Well it's about an old violin that travels through a few generations from its creation until the present day and tells the story of the people who owned it at that point in time. Wouldn't it be amazing to know what's the stories of these women while in any of these beautiful clothes(the vintage clothing that were never worn and kept in storage the entire time can sit in that corner and shut up).

Ummm that just gave me an idea....
