Mush for brains
I've been feeding my imagination with 3 chick lit books this week, and I'm starting a new one later this evening. I am slowly but surely turning my brains into mush. It's all my colleague's fault for forcing me to borrow them. I have to save myself, tonight I'm buying books! And none of them will be chick lit.
I have this application on Facebook called Visual Bookshelf, it's actually pretty good in keeping track of what books you've read (for those with short term memory loss like me), and what books you would like to read (for those with short term memory loss like me). It's also to show off that you're an intellectual who read serious and boring books about world politics, theology, philosophy and the economy. I mean, you can totally tell if a person is an intellectual or not by the books they read.
As for me it's a 50-50, you can't pigeonhole me anywhere Facebook! I can't stand dry, serious discussion in books, I think they should all make it fun, with a story. Have you tried reading any of the philosophers? Pretentious and long-winded, that's what they're like. That's why Sophie's World was so great for someone like me.
Anyway, I'm thinking I should treat myself to these:

Anyway, I'm thinking I should treat myself to these:
- The Imperfectionist by Tom Rachman
- Jonathan Strange & Mr Norell by Susanna Clarke
- Beatrice and Virgil by Yann Martell
- Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay
- Cocaine Nights / Concrete Island / Running Wild / The Crystal World by JG Ballard
- Party of One: The Loners Manifesto by Anneli Rufus
