Football nutjobbery and songs reminisicing
Feeling a bit off right now. Not in the mood to do anything. Even writing this feels like a chore.
Have a sort of high school reunion tonight with many not attending...I dunno why they even bother. Just gonna pop by a bit then off to watch the World Cup. No, that's not an anomaly.
For those who don't know me, obviously they think I'm some typical girly girl who hates football and likes shopping. Which is half true. I don't hate football, I just find it incredibly mind numbing, and urm boring. Shopping on the other hand, just burns holes in your pocket, that's about it.
I used to be really into football when I was younger. Definitely someone who watched the game because I actually liked it, not because of some dumb bets, or cute guys playing, or trying to impress guys by pretending I like it (yeah, I know a lot of women do that, c'mon don't lie hahaha), or just trying to fit in. In fact, I didn't fit in because I liked it. People thought I was a bit of a football nut.
And then life happened and I didn't have anymore time to indulge in my football nutjobbery. So it surprised me a bit when yesterday in the car on the way to work, I was listening to Hitz FM and they were having this competition called Are you Smarter than the 5th Caller? and they asked which country has been the runner up the most, and this GUY answered ITALY. I was screaming Germany! Germany! Germany! and then the other guy was supposed to agree or disagree and the idiot went and agreed with Italy. And they were both wrong. And they were both guys who were supposed to be sooo football crazy and know so much. Dumbasses. It was such an easy question.
So, basically, it's a bit of a hoot when people tease me thinking I know nuts about football when I actually probably know more than them, and don't even bother. But it's the World Cup, so I suppose it's ok to let the old indulgence creep back a bit, maybe use it to "bond" with the hubster. Hahaha.
I've been listening to some old songs this past week...Ah they were so good. Sublime, Cooper Temple Clause, Nirvana, Authority Zero, My Enemies Friends, old NIN songs...You know when you listen to a song and you remember exactly what you felt and what you were doing when you first heard them? Sigh.
