High heels are torture and I'm a masochist
I wore heels to work today. Nothing sky high, just 4-5 inches but it felt like my feet was about to be amputated. I realise a lot of women will snort with contempt at my whingeing but man did it hurt. Now that it's off and I'm comfortably barefoot...I realise, I don't have to wear them if it hurts. But why do I still torture myself?
Do I like the pain? Do I like the way it made me look? I call bullshit when they say heels make you walk more confidently, and look sexier too. How can you look sexy when you're tiptoeing around like a duck? Unless you find ducks sexy. Then you're just a frickin weirdo.
Every time I look at fashion mags or street fashion websites, I see all these women in gorgeous heels, looking relaxed and not ill. How do they manage? Is it the shape of their feet? Does my flipper shaped feet that's curved like its made for en pointe hinder me from these womanly pleasures?
I have to admit, I do own several pairs of high heels. The highest one is chilli red and pointy toed, and I've only worn it 3 times, if you count the time I tried it on for about 5 seconds before deciding I loved it no matter what. The other two times I wore it I sat down the entire time except for the short walk to the car.
I love looking at high heeled shoes, they are beautiful. They can make a plain outfit look outstanding. It's just that, why do they have to hurt? Why can't anyone create a pair of heels that doesn't hurt, that feels like you're wearing a pair of comfy flats and won't make you fall on your face?
People say spend a little bit more on those expensive designer heels you won't feel pain. Like hell it won't. Imagine paying a bomb and then it still hurts, and you also fall on your face.
In the meantime, I will still be on the lookout for the pair of heels that won't hurt, and drool at the beautiful pairs I see everywhere...like those that recently got to a model at the London Fashion Week:
